The Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services (HPAS) Preliminary Examination rewards two things above all: a firm hold on Himachal-specific facts and the ability to read a statement-based question carefully under time pressure. This book is built to train both.
It brings together fifteen complete, full-length General Studies Paper-I mock tests: 1,500 questions in all. Each paper has exactly 100 questions and follows the same blueprint, so scores can be compared from one paper to the next. Twenty questions in every paper test Himachal Pradesh, thirteen test current affairs and the Budget, and sixty-seven cover the static General Studies syllabus.
Every question was written from, or checked against, the reference material for its subject: the Himachal Pradesh General Knowledge question bank (based on Know Your State: Himachal Pradesh), the Economic Survey of Himachal Pradesh 2025–26 and State Budget 2026–27, the HP Current Affairs set (January–September 2026), the National and International Current Affairs compilation (January–September 2026), the Union Budget 2026–27 material, and an objective General Knowledge reference. No fact tested in one paper is repeated or merely rephrased in another.
The questions are pitched at moderate to high difficulty. About half of every paper is statement-based, with the rest made up of direct and analytical questions, match-the-list, chronology and assertion–reason items, in mixed order as in the real paper.
